VINTAGE 1980's FRANK USHER STRAPLESS DRESS

A simply stunning 1980's ballgown from quality label Frank Usher. Now known for producing more conservative ensembles, from the 1950's through to the 1980's the label produced some show stopping evening gowns. In manmade chiffon, in a sublime shade of blue, the strapless bodice is ruched, with a low back to reveal your shoulder blades. The double layered skirt is cut shorter at the back, for a bustle like effect.

A wonderful vintage 1980's Ralph Lauren silk mini skirt, with a military inspired print, reminiscent of a silk scarf. The print depicts a coat of arms using the Ralph Lauren name, with rich purple, red and cream stripes as a background. The border print features medals bearing the brand's initials etc. A really fun skirt, would look great layered over black leggings for a contemporary look.

An incredible early 1940's vintage swimsuit from highly sought after U.S label Rose Marie Reid, one of the best swimwear designers of this period. The fabric is linen mix, with the most gorgeous floral print, with amazing detail to the leaves and flowers. Interior herringbone tape straps join the inner pant to the bodice, cups are lined with cream jersey knit. Scalloped hem and adjustable button through straps. The perfect 'pin up' swimsuit!

A striking vintage 1980's Nina Ricci black suit, with an understated leopard jacquard weave. The luxe fabric has a subtle sheen, and is 79% wool, 21% silk. The jacket has a flattering nipped in waist, combined with the chic straight skirt. The jacket has wonderful chunky abstract gold metal buttons with matt black centres. A very sophisticated suit in fabulous condition.

A wonderful vintage towelling beach robe or cover up from luxury label Hermes, from their Hermes Sport range. I believe the robe dates from the late 1970's approximately. The bold print features seagulls in flight, on a background of soft turquoise and lighter sky blue. The robe is double breasted with silvery Hermes Sport buttons. A wonderfully quirky piece, perfect for lovers of vintage Hermes prints.

VINTAGE 1950's HERBERT SONDHEIM DRESS

A fabulous 1950's vintage dress, from quality U.S label Herbert Sondheim. "Herbert Sondheim started the Sondheim-Levy label in the 1920's, and bought out his partner, launching Herbert Sondheim by the 1930's. The label lasted through the 1950's, Sondheim died in 1966" (Info courtesy of the Vintage Fashion Guild). The famous composer Steven Sondheim is Herbert's son.

This dress features stunning all-over waved topstitching, creating a raised effect on the black crepe fabric. The fitted Fifties silhouette is enhanced by the button through styling.

VINTAGE 1960's HARDY AMIES WILD PRINT TUNIC

An unusually wild vintage printed tunic from renowned British couturier, and designer to Queen Elizabeth, Hardy Amies, dating from the 1960's. The Pucci-esque graphic print mixes shades of gold, bronze, pink and purple, on a silky 'Dicel' glossy lightweight jersey fabric. Probably originally part of a lounging set, as the reverse of the label states 'blouse'. Would look amazing layered over leggings, could be worn as a dress or a tunic, but bear in mind it would be extremely short, and has small side splits, so would need to be layered!

The coat is in a gorgeous shade of pumpkin orange, in a signature Issey Miyake high tech creased texture fabric, with a soft quilted layer. A fabulously wild, bohemian vintage late 1960's or early 1970's dress from collectable designer Gina Fratini. The dress mixes bright orange ditsy floral cotton, with two patterns of a forest green wool jacquard. The wool jacquard mixes panels of mini circular motifs, with a more abstract, tweedy pattern. Small silver grey shell buttons adorn the yoke and the voluminous sleeves. Wool jacquard ties, fixed with a silver metal buckle can be used to pull the dress in, and can be worn to the front or back waist as wished.

An outstanding vintage Frank Usher ballgown, very much 1950's in styling but dating from the late 60's/early 70's. The strapless bodice is constructed from pleated tulle/net with a layered tulle panel which is edged with a border of silver bugle beaded flowers, with white embroidered leaves. The skirts are voluminous, creating a wonderful silhouette, the top two layers of fine tulle net are lined with a stiffened net underskirt, edged with satin ribbon, and finally a cream satiny lining. Would make a breathtaking wedding dress, or a ballgown suitable for black tie events or proms.

A simple but chic vintage 1960's shift dress from Frank Usher. Very hard to capture in our photos, as the dress is very understated, but the shift is in a mid weight wool jersey and fully lined, so it skims rather than clings, for a flattering fit. The neckline has a seamed panel, trimmed with a fab oversize twisted satin thread button. Perfect for Mad Men inspired style!

A wonderfully chic vintage 1960's 'little black dress' from iconic British label 'Jean Varon', designed by John Bates. The dress is in soft wool crepe, with black satin binding to the boat neckline and elbow length sleeves. The double layered skirt is gathered to one hip and edged in satin binding, and topped off with a neat satin edged bow. Very Audrey Hepburn in feel, and quite different to the fluid later Jean Varon pieces - quite simply a perfect cocktail dress!

VINTAGE 1960'S PIERRE BALMAIN RED & GOLD KNIT SKIRT SUIT

A striking vintage 1960's knitted suit by famed designer Pierre Balmain. Labelled 'Les Tricots Pierre Balmain, Paris, Made in France'. The jacquard knit mixes metallic gold, black and rich red in an ornate pattern, which suggests Russian or folkloric inspirations. The boxy jacket has double sets of black covered buttons, edged either side of the placket with chunky black and metallic gold braid trim. The same metallic braid trims the jacket cuffs, and the hem and waistband of the softly flared skirt. A wonderful suit.

A chic vintage 1960's suit from British Couturier and designer to Queen Elizabeth Hardy Amies, from his ready to wear label. In a wonderful abstract print mixing inky blue, caramel and cream, I believe the fabric is silk, but can't be 100%. Belted in on my size 8 mannequin, the jacket can be worn boxier if wished. Also labelled Maude Jackson, the store where the suit would have retailed originally. Spring weight lightweight fabric and construction, perfect for this time of year.

An incredible vintage 1980's Frank Usher beaded cocktail gown, with substantial shoulder pads. Literally dripping with beading, bold silver sequins and bugle beads are encrusted across the shoulders and cuffs, and in a zig zag band across the front and back bodice. The dress is in black silk chiffon, with a sheer panel across the top of the bodice. The remainder of the dress is sprinkled throughout with sparkling black bugle beads. An exceptional dress for the party season, and in a really wearable size!
