VINTAGE 1950's BRODERIE ANGLAISE OVERDRESS

A perfect vintage 1950's summer dress, in a pretty broderie anglaise cotton. The dress is slightly unusual, designed as an overdress, with an open front from the waist to the hem - designed to be worn with a light skirt layered underneath, with a contrasting print or colour visible at the front. Competently made by a home dressmaker or seamstress, the boned bodice is lined with soft blue organza.
Very Good condition, one small 1.5cm repair to the skirt, disguised amongst the broderie embroidery - so very hard to spot. One of the bodice boning strips will need removing or replacing as it's been bent out of shape, and the others may need attention at some stage. Could be removed totally if wished, have left as is so that the new owner can decide.
