		VINTAGE 1950's HERBERT SONDHEIM DRESS PRICE £110 REF #480 A fabulous 1950's vintage dress, from quality U.S label Herbert Sondheim. "Herbert Sondheim started the Sondheim-Levy label in the 1920's, and bought out his partner, launching Herbert Sondheim by the 1930's. The label lasted through the 1950's, Sondheim died in 1966" (Info courtesy of the Vintage Fashion Guild). The famous composer Steven Sondheim is Herbert's son. This dress features stunning all-over waved topstitching, creating a raised effect on the black crepe fabric. The fitted Fifties silhouette is enhanced by the button through styling. The skirts contain literally metres of fabrics, typically 'New Look' in styling. There is boning to the sides of the bodice, the dress has been competently made by a 50's home dressmaker, so the interior finishing is fairly simple.
