Vintage 1930's Gold Jacquard Wedding Dress

A simply stunning vintage wedding dress, handmade by the original owner circa 1938. The dress has soft puffed sleeves and a lengthened back hem for a small train effect. The fabric is beautiful, a satin jacquard weave of branch motifs mixing cream and metallic gold threads, resulting in a creamy satin with subtle pale gold shimmering through on the linear pattern. As the dress was homemade it is unlined, and the interior finishing is simple.

Vintage 1940's Floral Jacquard Rayon Wedding Dress

A beautiful vintage 1940's wedding dress, in a subtle floral jacquard rayon fabric. The fabric is slightly sheer, so you will need to layer a slip underneath. Typically Forties styling, with gathered shoulders and tiny covered buttons on the bodice, and a flattering deep band at the waistband. The dress is an off white shade. Simple but stunning!

Vintage 1960's Pink Silk Heavily Beaded Halterneck Gown

A stunning vintage 1960's gown, in a soft shade of shell pink silk, lined throughout in luxe pink satin. The beautifully made gown is unlabelled but seems to be a typically heavily beaded Hong Kong made dress, probably custom made for the original owner. The bodice is completely encrusted with tiny pearl beads and translucent sequins, on a net lace base with pink leaf motifs. The halterneck neckline creates a sexy cut out back, and the semi fitted skirt has soft pleats over each hip. The front split is also edged with lace and beading. Would make a wonderful alternative wedding dress.

Vintage 1950's Lemon Jacquard Gown and Matching Bolero Jacket

An outstanding vintage 1950's gown complete with a matching bolero jacket and it's original belt. Labelled 'La Reine by Retta Day'. The fabric is a satin jacquard, with a delicate floral motif woven through it, in a soft shade of lemon yellow. The bodice has a pleated shelf panel to the bust for added detail when worn without the bolero jacket. The very full skirts have an integral stiffened calico underskirt for added volume. Would make a wonderful spring/summer wedding dress!

Vintage 1960's Frank Usher Strapless Beaded Tulle Ballgown

An outstanding vintage Frank Usher ballgown, very much 1950's in styling but dating from the late 60's/early 70's. The strapless bodice is constructed from pleated tulle/net with a layered tulle panel which is edged with a border of silver bugle beaded flowers, with white embroidered leaves. The skirts are voluminous, creating a wonderful silhouette, the top two layers of fine tulle net are lined with a stiffened net underskirt, edged with satin ribbon, and finally a cream satiny lining. Would make a breathtaking wedding dress, or a ballgown suitable for black tie events or proms.

Vintge 1950's Cream Satin Jacquard Wedding Dress

A wonderful vintage 1950's wedding dress, labelled 'designed by Catherine Martineau', we've been unable to discover any information about the label, but the dress is very well made, and lovely quality. A little too narrow for our broad shouldered mannequin, we've shown the back view on the hanger instead. The palest cream/off white satin has a jacquard weave with feather motifs. The simple boat neck and angled cuffs are perfectly Fifties, with a sweet bow highlighting the back waistband. The sculptural skirt is lined with net to create structure, and two fabric 'roses' gather in the skirt at the centre front. A perfect vintage wedding dress for summer weddings!

Vintage 1930's Cream Slip with Cutwork Details

A stunning vintage early 1930's slip in a buttery cream shade of rayon. The bodice panels are inset with intricate diamond shaped lace inserts, to both the front and back bodices and shoulders. The armholes are edged with a delicate lace trim, and rows of faggoting and cutwork floral motifs add further detail to the bodice. A diagonal row of faggoting runs from the waist to the hips, with ties pulling in the waist. A sweet embroidered bow detail adorns the front hemline, which is edged with rows of faggoting and lace. Would make a wonderful addition to a vintage bridal wardrobe.

Vintage 1940's White Lace Wedding Dress with Puffed Sleeves

One of the most beautiful 1940's wedding dresses we've come across, in white floral lace which is in fabulous condition. (semi sheer lace so you will need to layer a simple slip underneath). The dress has small shoulder pads and softly puffed sleeves, with an unusual ruched belt to the back, with a softly gathered panel which creates slight fullness at the back. Has clear glass flower shaped mock buttons, 3 to each cuff and 18 running down the back, with concealed presstud fastenings underneath.

A stunning vintage 1950's nylon chiffon prom or wedding dress. The off white semi sheer nylon is lined throughout, and has the sweetest blue floral bouquet print, with trailing ribbon motifs. The cream flowers within the print are slightly flocked, for a subtle textured effect. Very Audrey Hepburn in feel, photographed with a small crinoline underneath (not included) and full skirts could be exagerrated further with a larger crinoline.

Vintage Edwardian Embroidered Cotton Gown or Wedding Dress

One of the most beautiful dresses we've ever come across. A delicate Edwardian cotton lawn dress, probably originally a summer dress, would make a breathtaking vintage wedding dress. The cotton lawn is very fine and semi sheer, so would need to be worn with a slip. The front bodice opens with tiny hook and eyes, and is high necked with lace panels, white embroidery and pintucking to the shoulders and sleeves. The cuffs are trimmed with white lace. There is a narrow cream satin ribbon binding the waist, with tiny pintucks leading into the skirts. Stunning panel at the hem, made up of rows of white lace and embroidery, with a highlight of lilac floral embroidery. Simply stunning!
